Cartoon Network is opening its first hotel, a 165-room spot in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
On Tuesday, the network announced a new partnership with Palace Entertainment that will put a nine-acre establishment adjacent to Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park. The hotel will highlight characters from Cartoon Network shows like Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, and The Powerpuff Girls.
“With just the right mix of technology, design and animation, we’re aiming to bring our characters to life in a way that we haven’t seen done before,” Christina Miller, president of Cartoon Network-Adult Swim-Boomerang said in a statement. “We can’t wait to be part of many family vacations with the ultimate Cartoon Network experience.”
The hotel will include a number of features, such as an interactive lobby, resort-style pool, water play zone, outdoor amphitheater, lawn games, and fire pits. Inside, there will be an indoor pool, game room, and play area. Rooms will also feature “interchangeable show theming that can be customized around children’s preferences to make each visit a new adventure.”
Palace Entertainment manages over 20 amusements and water parks in the U.S. and Australia. This is the first time Palace has partnered with an international brand on lodging.
“This is going to be a game changer,” stated Palace Entertainment COO Rolf Paegert. “We are thrilled to be part of bringing the Cartoon Network experience to Lancaster, evolving the family hospitality and accommodations industry within the region.”
The hotel is expected to open in 2019.
