Back in March, Morant was suspended for eight games without pay after the Grizzlies superstar brandished a weapon in an […]]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><br /> </p> <div> <p>Days after <a target="_blank" href="https://www.complex.com/tag/ja_morant" rel="noopener">Ja Morant</a> was <a target="_blank" href="https://www.complex.com/sports/a/brad-callas/ja-morant-appears-to-flash-gun-another-instagram-live-video" rel="noopener">suspended</a> by the Memphis Grizzlies after he was seen flashing a gun on social media last weekend, some strippers from the club where the All-Star guard first landed himself in hot water are speaking out.</p> <p>Back in March, Morant was suspended for eight games without pay after the Grizzlies superstar brandished a weapon in an Instagram Live session he posted while at a Denver strip club.</p> <p>While speaking with the <a target="_blank" href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/20/strippers-say-ja-morant-didnt-apologize-for-march-gun-show/" rel="noopener"><em>New York Post</em></a>, one stripper from the club said she doesn’t believe Morant has learned from his mistakes.</p> <p>“I don’t foresee an apology [anytime] soon,” the woman said. “He’s a boy.” </p> <p>Another dancer ripped Morant for “clearly begging for attention,” adding that he should “be banned from all clubs and get his NBA career taken away given our country’s current circumstances on gun violence.”</p> <p>Earlier this week, Morant responded to his latest suspension in a statement provided to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.</p> <p>“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me,” he said. “This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”</p> <section class="suitcase-ad" /> <p>While the Grizzlies organization has already suspended Morant “from all team activities pending league review,” the NBA has yet to deliver a ruling on the matter. During ESPN’s coverage of the NBA Draft Lottery this past Tuesday, commissioner Adam Silver appeared alongside Malika Andrews to share his thoughts on Morant’s latest actions.</p> <section class="suitcase-ad" /> <p>“Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video,” Silver shared at the 1:45 mark below. “Now, we’re in the process of investigating it, and we’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. Back in 2016, the Warriors were down 3-1 against the Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. According to Looney, the Warriors are leaning on that experience to remain confident while facing another 3-1 hole.</p> <p>“It’s not our first experience, but it is definitely a new experience,” Looney told Complex. “Like I said, my rookie year, we were down 3-1 vs. OKC in the conference finals before we came back and won and went to the finals. So them guys have a lot of experience, but it’s always a new experience cause the characters change and no, we got this, the main three or four people, but we still got a whole lot of new faces in. So it’s definitely a different experience to be in this position. The last year we went to the finals, we didn’t really ever have this type of adversity when we were down. I think it was 2-1 in the finals but we never was down 3-1. And we know how hard it’s to come back from that, but we feel like we got the guys to do it. We got a lot of experience and we got a lot of championship pedigree. So we’ve been leaning on that and you know, we got to take it one game at a time, but we feel like we’re capable of doing it.”</p> <p>With a chance to eliminate the Warriors in Game 6, the Lakers are just the fifth team that’s pushed Golden State to the brink of elimination. However, we are appreciative of the invitation and look forward to other opportunities for Georgia teams moving forward.”</p> <p>The news arrives several months after a bipartisan group of congressional officials requested that the UGA football team visit the White House sooner. The Georgia Bulldogs won their second straight national championship in January after defeating the TCU Horned Frogs.</p> <p>“It is our hope that this repeat championship team can join the many teams prior that have been honored by the President,” the group <a href="https://www.ajc.com/sports/georgia-bulldogs/georgia-delegation-wants-bulldogs-to-be-honored-at-white-house/WR56JVZKVFFKFHSZ5ARHWWE2VU/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> in January. </p> <p>Meanwhile, back in April, First Lady Jill Biden announced an unusual request, revealing that she wanted to welcome not just the NCAA women’s national champions the <a href="https://www.complex.com/tag/lsu_tigers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LSU Tigers</a> to the White House, but also the Iowa women’s basketball team, which was defeated by the former in the national championship game. </p> <p>“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do.
