I regret filing the lawsuit.”</p> <p>Diplo’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman additionally told <em>Rolling Stone</em>: “As we said when we first learned of this lawsuit, there was absolutely irrefutable evidence that proved that the allegations it contained were false.”</p> <p>On July 8th, the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.complex.com/tag/major-lazer" rel="noopener">Major Lazer</a> DJ was accused of sexual assault by a woman who claimed he coerced her into oral sex and recorded the encounter without consent. According to documents obtained by<a target="_blank" href="https://www.tmz.com/2021/07/07/diplo-sued-woman-push-oral-sex-trap-hotel-room/" rel="noopener"><em> TMZ</em></a>, the woman said that the incident took place at an after-party following a Major Lazer performance at the Wynn in 2019. “As soon as we shared that plethora of evidence with the plaintiff’s lawyers, they recognized that they needed to withdraw their suit immediately,” Freedman said in a statement. “This demonstrably false claim…has caused great harm. While that damage can never fully be undone, we are glad to see this lawsuit be dismissed with prejudice.”</p> <section class="suitcase-ad"/> <p>Diplo faced a similar lawsuit back in June from a woman who accused him of recording their sexual encounter and leaking it without consent. “These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law,” Freedman said. The lawsuit states the alleged victim was invited to an afterparty for one of Diplo’s Las Vegas concerts. The woman said she and her friends accepted the invitation and met the DJ at the Wynn hotel, where he provided marijuana and alcohol to the already intoxicated group.</p> <p>Shortly after they arrived at the party, Diplo allegedly asked the woman to join him in his private room. The plaintiff said it was at that point when Diplo’s security began removing people from the party, including one of her male friends who was punched in the face because he didn’t want to leave without her.</p> <p>Once inside the private room, Diplo allegedly told the woman she couldn’t get out until she gave him oral sex. The plaintiff said she complied because she was scared for her safety and simply wanted to leave. Auguste alleges Diplo first contacted her on Twitter when she was just 17 and “solicited nude photos of her.” </p> <p>They went on to exchange explicit images before meeting in person for the first time in 2018 when she was 21. After Auguste later moved to L.A., the DJ allegedly began pressuring her for sex by sending unsolicited graphic photos of himself in sexual situations. </p> <p>Auguste claims Diplo “recorded video of their sexual encounter despite her telling him she didn’t want that” and tried to “coax her into a threesome with a girl she believes was underaged at the time.” After Auguste declined the threesome, she says he “forced himself on her as she tried to fight him off.”</p> <p>Diplo’s attorney, Brian Freedman, denied all allegations to <em>TMZ</em>: “As has already been made clear in the restraining order we obtained against this individual, she has repeatedly stalked, defamed, threatened and attempted to shake down Diplo and his family. He also accuses her of sending sexually suggestive messages to his family, making fake social media accounts, sending explicit photographs and videos of him to his loved ones and making him fearful enough to sell his home last month. </p> <p>Auguste, who dated Diplo in 2019 but argues that they’ve been talking since 2014, told TMZ that Diplo’s filing is a way for him to ger revenge over a restraining order she filed. She also claims that she has text messages that Diplo sent her and that “the truth will prevail.”</p> <p>Diplo also alleges that Auguste sent the mother of his child racist texts, calling her an “ugly dark skin bitch” and telling her to “Go kill yourself I know I see right through you you’re not gorgeous.”Auguste denies sending the racist text mentioned in the suit, according to TMZ.</p> <p>Diplo got a restraining order against Auguste in December, before she also <a target="_blank" href="https://www.complex.com/music/2020/11/diplo-hit-with-restraining-order-request-following-revenge-porn-accusations" rel="noopener">got one against him</a> over more alleged revenge porn. It’s the truth.”</p> <p>Her remarks forced the 41-year-old producer and Blackwell to address the questions about their relationship. In a tweet, Blackwell denied that she is “being groomed” by the producer and contends that the relationship is “platonic.”</p> <p>“I’m an adult. I’m not being groomed. Platonic relationships exist. I’ve been living here for over a year… I’d rather break both of my legs and be forced to walk than pursue Diplo romantically and he’d rather choke. He’s barley <em>[sic]</em> in LA bc he’s so busy. Diplo has given me the opportunity and the security to create. Diplo and his team are my mentors in LA and they are my safety net. Diplo and his team have saved me numerous times from the weirdos in LA. My parents trust him. I trust him. Y’all are making me feel icky. Diplo is my LA dad..nothing more.”</p> <section class="suitcase-ad"/> <p>For his part, Diplo alleged that the pair are friends, and that he’s her landlord and nothing more—and that as Blackwell’s landlord, he doesn’t live in the building where she does but occasionally uses the building’s facilities.</p> <p>“OK so I rent one of my properties to @quenblackwell,” he tweeted. “And yes I use the studio that is in that building. Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but a friendship between us.”</p> <p>In a second tweet, he wrote, “As a landlord I don’t really consider age or race as a qualification. U just gotta pay security deposit. I don’t know if she’s still making a reggae album or what, but this is a song we did for it. I don’t have the whole song, I’m just going to play you a piece of it, and it probably won’t sound great because it’s an iPhone recording of the speakers.”</p> <p>Rihanna has been fairly quiet on the music front since she released her eighth studio album, <em>Anti</em>, in 2016. Since then, she has taken her talents elsewhere, launching Fenty Beauty in 2017, her luxury apparel brand with LVMH in 2019, and now her skincare line in 2020.
