Hear that below.</p> <p>Notably, the formal “Rumble” rollout follows its teasing during Fred’s run of sets prior to his widely acclaimed Boiler Room set, which marked his debut on the platform. The Fred set in question was quickly regarded as an all-timer and has amassed over 12 million views since its premiere last July.</p> <section class="suitcase-ad" /> <p>Skrillex’s “Way Back” collaborator PinkPantheress, meanwhile, launched a Boiler Room set of her own in December. </p> <p>Expected at some point this year is a new full-length from Skrillex, who teased fans earlier this month with an Instagram post suggesting that the release could be rolled out as a double album.</p> <section class="suitcase-ad" /> <p>Whether double or not, the album will mark his first new solo full-length in nearly nine years. In 2014, Skrillex shared his debut studio album <em>Recess</em>, which was preceded by a string of hit EPs including <em>Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites</em> and its follow-up <em>More Monsters and Sprites</em>. On the production side of things he’s tapped in with <a href="http://www.complex.com/tag/skrillex/" target="_self" rel="noopener">Skrillex</a>, Jack Donaghue of Salem, and his usual roster of producers including Whitearmor, Woesum, and Ssaliva. </p> </p> <p>To coincide with the release of the project, Yung Lean also shared a lo-fi, Aidan Zamiri-directed video for his FKA twigs collab “Bliss.” The two ride around in a car reminiscent of the Cadillac that Isaac Hayes’ character in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHZdEoOdIkQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Escape from New York</em></a> drives, complete with chandeliers dangling from the front. Cortez’s debut album <em>Famouz </em>established the young reggaeton crooner as a powerful solo act back in 2019, and remained on the Hot Latin Albums Billboard chart for over 70 weeks, eventually going platinum three times. What followed was a year and a half of silence, minus a few loose singles and a massive collab with Bad Bunny on “Dákiti.” With fans growing excited to see what the young singer was going to bring next, Jhay finally confirmed the release of the <em>Famouz</em> follow-up in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEYT2OwwQSw" rel="noopener">a new trailer</a> last week. </p> <p>“I’m glad that I feel comfortable and secure enough that I’m giving them a great body of work and great experience no matter the time I took,” Cortez told <a target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a48dzzIHmkI" rel="noopener">Complex</a>. “<em>Timelezz</em> is everything that inspired me.” The album is heavy with EDM flavors, a vibe Jhay said was completely intentional. “The good thing about the Reggaeton urban scene is that it has a lot of different types of waves, you can get on the wave you want. It’s one of those cuts that will have heads going ham in the club, but not the usual vibe you’d expect from Skrillex. Truth be told, that’s the key: Skrillex might’ve been known for a particular style of dubstep/EDM, but over the years he’s proven—on the low—that his sound is way broader than those who’ve pigeonholed him.</p> <p>With rumblings that this is just the tip of the iceberg, expect to hear more of Skrillex’s wide-ranging sound in what we hope is the near future.
