Celebrate 30 Years of the Nike Air Max 90 with This Clean Refitting

Nike strides into the next decade in style, fitted with the 2020 Air Max 90.
It goes without saying that Nike is responsible for several silhouettes that head up ‘best of all time’ lists, and no list would be quite complete without the 90s icon that is the Air Max 90. First designed by Tinker Hatfield and released as the Air Max III in 1990, the AM90 has stood the test of time to become synonymous with sneaker culture, holding a very special place in the hearts of British sneakerheads in particular. Revered for its timeless 90s panelled styling and classic shape, the shoe has earnt its cult status with some of the Swoosh’s slickest collaborative efforts and OG colourways. In celebration of the silhouette’s 30th birthday, Nike has recrafted the shoe with a new toe box height, heel panel, and panel scale. A modern homage to the original, the 2020 refit contains easter eggs for sneakerheads, such as the original skinny box design complete with iconic hazard stripes. Maintaining the focus on the updated shape and details, the 2020 Air Max 90 comes complete with a tonal Sail colouring from front to back.
The 2020 Air Max 90 is set to release on December 21st via Nike and select retailers, with further original and classic colourways set to land throughout 2020.
