Charles Barkley Dismisses Draymond Green as the ‘Guy Standing Next to Justin Timberlake’

Written by on March 10, 2020

Charles Barkley fired back at Draymond Green, after Green threatened to take Barkley’s job on Inside the NBA. When TMZ caught up with Barkley recently, he let it be known that Green doesn’t possess the intangibles needed to be on television.

“I think [Draymond is] a good player and a great guy,” Barkley said. “I like messing with him but he’s got the perfect face for radio. He don’t have a TV face. He could do the job but he doesn’t have a face for TV.”

Barkley didn’t stop there. During a Tuesday appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Charles compared Green to a second-tier member of a boy band.

“He’s like the guy in the boy band who’s the least important member,” Barkley said. “[H]e’s the guy standing next to Justin Timberlake.”

Last week, Green went directly at Barkley, after Charles criticized his season averages.

“Barkley should stop before I take his job, though,” Green told the media. “Because I can do that well, too.” Green also attacked Barkley’s basketball pedigree, specifically his lack of titles.

“He also can’t talk basketball with me either,” Green continued. “Not smart enough, not qualified. No rings, can’t sit at this table.”

Although Barkley never won a ring, he’s still one of the most accomplished basketball players in NBA history. In fact, he’s selling his trophies and memorabilia to raise money for affordable housing in his hometown of Leeds, Alabama.

“I’m just doing it to get that crap out of my house,” Charles joked when asked why he agreed to sell his trophies. “Nah, it’s just I don’t need that stuff. … I’m almost 60-years-old. I don’t want to be 70-years-old and showing people my trophies.”
