Chase B Explains the Reason Behind Travis Scott’s Backwards Swooshes

Written by on October 19, 2019

Two of the year’s biggest sneaker releases have been Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 and Jordan 1 Low collaborations. Released in May and September respectively, the pairs are highly sought after by collectors and have fetched thousands on the second-hand market. In addition to personalized “Cactus Jack” logo hits, the standout feature on each design is an enlarged reversed Swoosh, which Scott’s DJ Chase B, who works on the shoes with the rapper, spoke about when he stopped by this week’s episode of Full Size Run.

The backwards (or reverse) Swoosh had previously been used on several Nike designs, but Scott’s Air Jordan 1 marked the branding style’s debut on the iconic model.

Chase credits the team at Jordan for understanding he and Scott’s vision, saying they’re “one hundred percent supportive.” He also says they’re working on several new sneakers, the next believed to be an Air Force 1 Low rumored to be dropping sometime in November.
