Blueface‘s “Thotiana” is getting the remix treatment left and right. Everyone from YG and Cardi B to Nicki Minaj and Desiigner have put their own spin on the dance club anthem; and now, Young M.A. has decided to get in on the action.
On Wednesday, the rapper released her take on Blueface’s hit record and accompanied the track with an official music video. The visual shows Young M.A. living it up at a house party surrounded by friends and twerking women whose assets are censored by emojis. You can check out the visual, directed, by ShotByCisco, above.
In honor of Black History Month, Young M.A. has curated a special playlist for Apple Music. The rapper spoke about her exclusive list during a recent appearance on Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 radio show.
“I was 9 when I realized I wanted to do rap,” she told Apple Music. “I never wanted to do anything else and my mom definitely supported me. She bought me a karaoke machine, books, tapes, CDs, whatever I needed to work on my craft. She was always playing different types of music, too, which kept me well-rounded and topical with my own music.”
Young M.A.’s “Queens” playlist includes music by Ashanti, The Notorious B.I.G., JAY-Z, Eve, Sade, and Teyana Taylor. You can stream the playlist via Apple Music.
Young M.A. is just one of the many celebrities who have created exclusive Apple Music playlists in celebration of Black History Month. Other curators include Lena Waithe, Virgil Abloh, Victor Cruz, Tyler Mitchell, and Andre Drummond.
