The Oklahoma City Thunder’s No. 2 draft pick Chet Holmgren suffered a foot injury last Saturday while playing in Jamal Crawford’s CrawsOver Pro-Am game, Shams Charania reports.
The injury, which is being described as potential ligament issues in his foot, occurred in the opening moments of the game when Holmgren was attempting to stop LeBron James on a fast break.
Footage from the game shows Holmgren land awkwardly on his right foot after the possession and immediately begin to limp down the court. He would not play for the rest of the game after sustaining the injury, but he did stick around on the bench until it ended.
Shams added that exams have confirmed that Holmgren has a potential tear in a ligament in his foot.
The Thunder have yet to release a statement regarding the injury or how long Holmgren is expected to be out going into the next season.
