Chris Pratt Says ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ Will Use James Gunn’s Script

James Gunn will not helm the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy threequel, but the actors will apparently be working from his script. Star and Star-Lord Chris Pratt revealed that the movie will be made with the story Gunn prepared before he was ousted over old tweets.
“It’s off the chain, it’s so good,” Pratt said of the script in an interview with MTV News.
Pratt, like many of his Guardians co-stars, didn’t seem happy with Gunn’s firing. Now the Jurassic World actor is being a pragmatist about the whole situation. “Well, I love James and I’m loyal to James,” he said. “We’re gonna deliver the movie. We’re gonna give the fans what they deserve. It’s in the nature of the Guardians of the Galaxy to get the job done, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
Pratt’s co-star Dave Bautista threatened to leave the movie over the Gunn firing. He pushed Marvel to use Gunn’s script in his public comments, but it remains to be seen if Bautista is okay with the arrangement. Fellow Marvel director Taika Waititi has weighed in on the firing and how odd it would be for another director to take over a series that is someone else’s vision.

“For me, those are James’ films,” said the Thor: Ragnarok helmer. “Going into something like that with his stamp all over his films, would be like going into someone’s house and saying, ‘Hey, I’m your new dad, and this is how we make peanut butter sandwiches now.’ It feels kind of awkward.”
Earlier this week Pratt said of Avengers: Endgame, “Everything it promises in the previous movie, it delivers on, and so much more.”
