Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov Will Be Suspended After Post-Fight Melee

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be temporarily suspended starting Monday as they await their hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission on Oct. 24. The suspension comes after their involvement in a brawl that spilled out into the crowd following their main event match at UFC 229 in Las Vegas this past weekend.
On Monday, the NAC filed a formal complaint against McGregor and Nurmagomedov and promised to conduct a full yet expeditious investigation into the incident since the $2 million paycheck meant for Khabib was being withheld from him. Conor has already been paid his $3 million purse.
Nurmagomedov hopped on Instagram earlier today and threatened to leave the UFC over the suspension of Zubaira Tukhugov for his role in the melee.
Tukhugov, who was slated to fight Artem Lobov later this month, jumped into the Octagon after the fight and took a swing at McGregor.
ESPN’s Ariel Helwani believes Khabib will likely be sanctioned for starting the post-fight brawl. He also reports that McGregor should receive some sort of punishment as well.
