Consequence Shares Kanye’s Handwritten Tracklist for ‘Late Registration’

Written by on April 23, 2022

Nearly 17 years after the release of Kanye West’s second studio album Late Registration, former G.O.O.D. Music rapper Consequence took to Twitter on Thursday to show off the album’s original handwritten tracklist.

“Look what I found today,” he wrote alongside a photo of Ye’s handwriting. “The handwritten tracklisting for ‘Late Registration.’ Peep the ‘Dropout’ bear at the top. So I have both ‘The College Dropout’ + ‘Late Registration’ tracklisting as collector’s items given to me by Kanye West. Amazing.”

Back in 2016, Consequence, who appeared alongside Cam’ron on the Late Registration track “Gone,” also unearthed the handwritten tracklist for Kanye’s 2004 debut album, The College Dropout.

Released on Aug. 30, 2005, Late Registration topped the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 860,000 copies.

The LP was preceded by Kanye’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, “Gold Digger.” Ye would go on to top Late Registration’s first-week numbers with his next full-length offering, 2007’s Graduation. The album also earned two nominations at the Grammy Awards, as Kanye took home Best Rap Album.
