Converse All Star Pro BB Release Date
Written by SOURCE on April 18, 2019
Converse has remained a relevant name in the lifestyle footwear space, but has been absent from the performance basketball realm for nearly a decade. That all changes today with the brand officially announcing its newest silhouette, the All Star Pro BB.
The model’s upper is constructed of single layer of QuadFit mesh, the same material used on the futuristic Nike Adapt BB, and sits atop a drop-in React midsole for cushioning. Reinforced eyelets, orange contrast stitching on the medial side panel, and a diamond-shaped outsole tread complete the design.
Despite being built to meet the performance standards of today’s game, the All Star Pro BB features various nods to the brand’s extensive basketball timeline. For one, the high-top is vaguely shaped like the classic Chuck Taylor All Star. It even dons the signature All Star logo on the medial ankle collar. The Chevron logo seen on the feet of legends like Julius Erving, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson in the ’70s and ’80s dons each lateral side panel. The midsole sports a textured toe guard and orange stripe similar to the one seen on various old school Converse models as well.
Expect black and white-based colorways of the Converse All Star Pro BB to arrive at select retailers in May 2019 for $140 each.
