Converse Star Series BB RN Collection Release Date

On the heels of the release of the brand’s return to performance basketball, the All Star Pro BB, Converse has revealed more new footwear in the form of the Star Series.
The trio of silhouettes is designed by Tinker Hatfield and is based on the concept of Converse being born as a lifestyle brand in today’s marketplace. The Star Series featured the BB (Basketball,), RN (Running), and UT (Utility).
“From a sports perspective, Converse is historically a basketball brand so I felt it was natural to create a shoe within that category. A runner is worn to work out but also worn casually, transcending the way people use and live in our products, much like how Converse has been adopted through the years. The Chukka silhouette is something that easily slides into the Converse universe; unexpected, versatile, yet familiar,” Hatfield told Sole Collector.
Each pair is constructed of a mesh upper with welded overlays and will be offered in classic black and white-based options. Orange detailing, reflective hits, and an old school Chevron logo stamped on each side panel complete the designs. Each upper sits atop a lightweight Cushlon midsole to provide a modern upgrade in the comfort department as well.
“The pack is unique because each silhouette shares the Converse DNA of strong horizontal lines. We wanted to marry them all together, ensuring they have a familial relationship to the brand, while pushing into new spaces,” said Hatfield.
Look for the Converse Star Series BB and RN to arrive at Nike SNKRS and Converse SoHo on Wednesday, May 22 for $75 and $95, respectively. The UT will hit select retailers in late 2019.
