CupcakKe Reportedly Taken to Hospital After Tweet About Suicide

CupcakKe is safe after alarming fans and fellow artists with a tweet about suicide Monday night.
The tweet, which was also shared to the prolific Chicago artist’s Instagram account, was widely circulated Monday night as concerned followers tried to get the attention of those closest to her. Eventually, comedian Elijah Daniel—who says he first tried to text CupcakKe but noticed the texts were sending out as green—was able to get in contact with the Chicago Police Department.
Per the most recent update, CupcakKe is safe in a local hospital after authorities performed a wellness check. Official updates from CupcakKe’s social media accounts had not been made at the time of this writing.
CupcakKe recently announced a run of overseas dates in promotion of her most recent project, the 12-track Eden. The first date is slated for Mar. 27 in Glasgow. She was initially set to be a part of Iggy Azalea‘s Bad Girls Tour last fall. That trek, however, was ultimately called off altogether. “I’m grateful for the opportunity…and I’ll be going on tour by meself when the album drops,” CupcakKe told fans at the time before later announcing a run of solo dates.
Eden was one of two new albums CupcakKe released in 2018. The other, Ephorize, dropped that January and features the f*cking incredible “Duck Duck Goose.” Back in 2017, she stole the show on Charli XCX’s Pop 2 cut “I Got It” with Brooke Candy and Pabllo Vittar.
