Danny DeVito Responds to Viral Bathroom Shrine: ‘My Heart Is Filled With Love and Garbage’

Written by on November 17, 2018

Earlier this week, a student at SUNY Purchase looked through a hole behind a paper towel dispenser that held a makeshift shrine to Danny DeVito—a monument that features a Marlboro box, empty water bottles, and graffiti. The It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia actor responded to the viral sight with appreciation on Twitter.

“Your shrine honors me. My heart is filled with love and garbage,” he wrote. “Tomorrow, as you may know, is my name day. Do something that makes you feel good. Above all be kind to each other. Pick up trash, recycle, and be aware of plastics in the ocean.”

Plenty of people were set to celebrate DeVito, regardless of the shrine. Last April, New Jersey declared Nov. 17 Danny DeVito Day, honoring the famous actor from Neptune Township with an entire day of celebration on his 74th birthday.

That students at Purchase would want to get in on it makes sense to us. Offer an egg and call upon DeVito to give you strength, even when all you want to do is retire (bitch).
