David Banner Claims Jack Harlow Benefits From White Privilege

Written by on April 23, 2022

From Eminem to Mac Miller to Post Malone, every white rapper has been forced to acknowledge the benefits of white privilege. The latest, of course, is Jack Harlow, who’s fresh off scoring his second No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with his latest single, “First Class.”

In the wake of Jack Harlow’s chart dominance, David Banner shared his thoughts about the contentious issue while chatting with TMZ on Friday at LAX. “White people in the world are propped up on everything,” Banner began.

When asked if Harlow, in particular, benefits from white privilege, Banner responded, “Of course. White people’s whiteness is a benefit to them anywhere in the world. If white people run the structure, [whiteness] is going to benefit.”

The 47-year-old Mississippi native went on to claim that Harlow himself would admit his white privilege. “I think he would tell you that,” Banner said.

Ahead of next month’s release of his sophomore effort Come Home the Kids Miss You, Harlow has already earned his first Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead artist with “First Class,” which debuted atop the chart last week on the strength of a 2022 record 54.6 million streams, 4.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 10,600 downloads, all in its first week.

The song marks Harlow’s third top 10 hit, following the No. 2 peak of “Whats Poppin,” specifically the remix featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, in 2020, and Lil Nas X’s chart-topping song, “Industry Baby.”
