Denzel Curry Shares Surreal Video for “Black Balloons” f/ Twelve’len and Goldlink

Written by on March 27, 2019

Exactly eight months after the release of Ta13ooDenzel Curry revisits the critically acclaimed album with the official video for “Black Balloons,” featuring Twelve’len and Goldlink.

The visual serves as a prequel to “Clout Cobain,” as it illustrates Curry’s transformation from an unknown rapper to a full-fledged hip-hop star. It begins with the rapper sitting at a conference table with an eerie industry exec asking him about his ambitions. Curry is promised wealth and notoriety, just as long as he signs on the dotted line. He, of course, picks up the pen and inks his name, only to find out that the music business isn’t everything it’s made out to be. Curry is taken to a surreal world where has has access to drugs and beautiful women. The video ends, however, with Curry behind bars in clownface.

You can watch the “Black Balloons” video, directed by Zev Deans, above.

Curry is now preparing to release the Black Balloons, The Love Below Remix Pack, which features seven remixes by Love Below members Telescope Thieves, Cancrejo, Manuvers, JerriousB, Pazmal, and Louby. The project is set to drop this Friday.
