Diddy References Suge Knight During Snoop Dogg Dance-Off

From the outside looking in, it seems like it’s hard to attend any function with Diddy and not be inclined to dance with the mogul. While he’s had his hands in (and on) a couple of rap beefs, Brother Love appears to be past all the drama when he referenced former advisory Suge Knight in his latest Instagram post.
On Sunday, Diddy uploaded a video of himself enjoying a hilarious 70s style dance-off with Snoop Dogg. The joy they shared is a testament to how time heals all wounds being as they previously were on opposite sides of the Bad Boy/Death Row beef. This is something Puff acknowledged as he cleverly alluded to Death Row co-founder Suge Knight in his caption.
“Look at this n**ga Puff all up in the videos and all up in the records,” Diddy wrote. “Let’s enjoy life!!!”
Diddy’s caption is similar to the speech Suge gave on the night that changed hip-hop. The 1995 Source Awards was held in New York City and were full of tension as regionalism in rap was hitting its peak. This forced several artists to use their acceptance speeches/time on stage to either heighten or defuse the pending drama. Out of this came Andre 3000’s prophetic statement of “the South got something to say” and Suge Knight’s inflammatory sneak diss to Puffy.
“Any artist out there that want to be an artist and stay a star, and don’t have to worry about the executive producer trying to be all in the videos, all on the record, dancing… come to Death Row,” Suge told the crowd.
“The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg? The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and Death Row?” Snoop asked the crowd. “Y’all don’t love us? Well, let it be known then! We know y’all east coast! We know where the f**k we at! East coast in the motherf**kin’ house!”
While it would be years before the two officially buried the hatchet, from Sunday’s post it is clear that neither Puff nor Snoop harbor any ill feelings towards each other or those involved. This is best displayed by Snoop’s attire. Like Diddy he too developed issues with Knight, but in Puff’s post, he’s donning his gold Death Row chain as they enjoy the evening.
