Dion Waiters Reportedly ‘Overdosed’ on Gummies on Team Plane

Sports radio host Andy Slater reported Friday that one of the Miami Heat’s players suffered a medical emergency on the team plane. In a follow-up, Slaters tweeted that the player was Dion Waiters, who was listed as out of the night’s game against the Lakers due to illness.
Waiters reportedly passed out on the plane ride after he “overdosed” on gummies. He allegedly had a seizure when he woke up. Neither the Heat nor Waiters has confirmed the details.
Waiters didn’t have a clean to start to the season. The guard was suspended from Miami’s season opener for “conduct detrimental to the team.” Riley vaguely cited a number of incidents during that week and an argument with coach Erik Spoelstra during a preseason game as reasons for the suspension. After the punishment was announced, Waiters insulted Spoelstra on Instagram (“I would win [too] if I had Bron & Wade plus Bosh”). Insiders believed the quarrel was over his minutes.
