Disney Releases First Full-Length Trailer for Tim Burton-Directed Live-Action ‘Dumbo’

Disney has finally let us inside the tent with their first full-length trailer for the live-action Dumbo. The film, which is a remake of the classic 1941 movie of the same name, appears to be taking the same depressing tone of the original, especially with a glimpse of the heart-wrenching scene where Dumbo’s mother is taken away from him. Has anyone ever nearly cried from watching a trailer?
Speaking of the trailer, it looks like—fingers crossed—director Tim Burton didn’t go… full Tim Burton with Dumbo. While there is a gloominess and eerie aspects that come across as very Burton-esque, none of the visuals lead us to believe that he’s going on a WTF-fest like he did with Alice in Wonderland. Of course, there is a possibility that he may go all the way in his bag for the “Pink Elephant Parade” scene, which there is a snippet of at the 1:30 mark.
Michael Keaton (V. A. Vandevere), Eva Green (Colette Marchant), Colin Farrell (Holt Farrier), and Danny DeVito (Max Medici) star in the film.
Check out the trailer above. Dumbo will be out in theaters on on March 29, 2019.
