Donald Trump References ‘Wall’ Around Obamas’ D.C. Home to Justify Border Wall
Written by SOURCE on December 31, 2018
Donald Trump‘s latest argument in support of his unnecessary border wall along the southern border of the United States finds him referencing the “wall” built outside the Washington D.C. home of Barack and Michelle Obama.
President and Mrs. Obama built/has a ten foot Wall around their D.C. mansion/compound. I agree, totally necessary for their safety and security. The U.S. needs the same thing, slightly larger version!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 30, 2018
The Obamas have called the nine-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom mansion in the Kalorama neighborhood home since leaving the White House. In 2017, they bought the residence for just over $8 million with the intention of living there while their youngest daughter Sasha finished high school at Sidwell Friends School.
That same year, TMZ posted photos of the fence around the Obamas’ home under construction.
The “wall” around the Obamas’ home looks nothing like the wall proposed by Trump a little over a week ago, which featured his once much-desired “steel slats” aesthetic.
What Trump doesn’t seem to realize is that the fence around Barack and Michelle’s home is for their personal property. The Obamas are also using the “wall” around their D.C. mansion to protect themselves against a far greater threat than anyone trying to “illegally” come into the United States—American citizens.
