Dot Da Genius Whips Up Some “Fettuccine” on Debut Single as Solo Artist

With his inaugural single as a solo artist, prolific producer Dot Da Genius (Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, etc.) wanted to keep the proceedings underground.
“Fettuccine,” which arrived as a nice surprise over the weekend, was intentionally built “not for radio” and once again puts Dot’s unique ability to craft unparalleled sonic landscapes on full display. Fat Tony, Price, and Tunji Ige were also recruited to kick off Dot’s next chapter. “It was just organic vibes when the Homies came to the studio,” the beat maker said in a statement.

As for what to expect with the rest of Dot’s upcoming solo project, all we know so far can best be summarized in this visual representation Dot shared back in October.
Consider me downright stoked.
Most recently, Dot contributed to the veritable supergroup of producers and general creatives behind Cudi’s Kanye West collab album Kids See Ghosts. The aim with Ghosts highlight “Reborn,” Dot later said, was to give fans a “healing” record. Breaking down the track’s origin story in a recent video chat with GQ, Cudi echoed that sentiment. “It was one of those things where I kinda wanted to make a song to kinda let the world know where I was at at that moment in time,” Cudi, who first started putting the track together with Dot at his house, said. “I had the hook immediately.”
