Duke’s Zion Williamson Suffers Knee Injury After Ripping Sneakers

Wednesday’s ACC showdown between Duke and North Carolina was fetching nearly $3,000 for the cheapest ticket in Cameron Indoor Stadium just to see Blue Devils forward Zion Williamson compete against his school’s biggest rival.
Less than a minute into the game, Williamson left with a knee injury when he planted his foot awkwardly, causing his Nike PG 2.5 PEs to literally split in half.
After facing a wave of criticism, Nike released a statement on the incident.
NIKE STATEMENT: “We are obviously concerned and want to wish Zion a speedy recovery. The quality and performance of our products are of utmost importance. While this is an isolated occurrence, we are working to identify the issue.”

One of the many famous celebrities in attendance, President Barack Obama, made the astute observation, pointing at the aftermath, and declaring, “His shoe broke!”
Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James hoped for the best for Zion.
Obama later took to Twitter to also wish Zion a “speedy recovery.”
Zion Williamson seems like an outstanding young man as well as an outstanding basketball player. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Others wanted to use Williamson’s injury to point out the unfortunate circumstances that NCAA athletes are forced to deal with.
