It’s been a long time coming, but the dynamic Atlanta duo of EarthGang have officially released their fourth studio album, Ghetto Gods, with features from J. Cole, Future, JID, and more.
Ahead of the album’s release, EarthGang dropped their single “Amen” featuring Musiq Soulchild. Speaking on how the song came together, the two artists shared how they were apprehensive at first about making it a single, but decided to because it spoke to another side of the album.
“‘Amen’ is jammin! It’s honest, and the world needs a little more honesty,” they said. “It shows our versatility as artist and producers. There was some initial uncertainty about putting the song out amongst the team. Even Musiq said ‘I can’t say get down on your knees for me.’ Lol. Then we explained that it’s about showing someone you’re really in their corner. It’s a beautiful song about expressing love in all its many forms.”
Despite Ghetto Gods receiving its official release on DSPs today, many fans have already heard the album during the live listening sessions EarthGang have been putting on across different cities for nearly a month now. Letting diehard supporters hear the album before anyone else, this was all in preparation for the Atlanta duo’s “Biodeghettable” World Tour.
Supported by Mike Dimes and Pigeons & Planes, the tour is set to kick off on March 4 at Okeechobee Festival and make stops across North America before the gang travel across the globe for shows in the UK and other parts of Europe. This will also mark EarthGang’s first formal tour in two years.
