Elon Musk Tells AOC to ‘Stop Hitting on Me’ After Twitter Purchase

Elon Musk—who has claimed that the “far left hates everyone”—is accusing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of “hitting on me” after she tweeted about a “billionaire with an ego problem.”
On Friday, AOC wrote that she was “tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special.”
Despite AOC not naming anybody by name, Musk was quick to respond to her indirect critique of communication platform-controlling billionaires.
“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk wrote alongside a blushing emoji.
AOC then confirmed that her tweet wasn’t about Musk in the first place, responding to him in a since-deleted tweet where she wrote, “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok.”
When asked why she deleted her tweet, the politician said she tries “to avoid giving people with massive ego complexes like this the attention and QTs/replies they crave and are seeking (when I can help it).”
This past week, Musk inked a deal with Twitter Inc. that made it so it would be acquired “by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk” for roughly $44 billion. Musk hopes to make the platform “better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.”
