Emmanuel Sanders Responds to Getting Called Out by Antonio Brown: ‘Get Off the Gas’

Written by on January 17, 2019

Antonio Brown has responded to the criticisms doled out by former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians in his interview on The Adam Schefter Podcast. On Wednesday, Brown replied to a fan who brought up a quote from Arians where he said that the 7-time Pro Bowler isn’t the same person today that he was when the Steelers drafted him in 2010.

The Steelers selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft while Sanders was taken with a third rounder. Brown’s remarks may reflect his feeling that Arians preferred Sanders over him, even though they were both drafted by the same team. Sanders didn’t allow his former teammate to go unchecked, firing back with a blistering response.

Sanders also retweeted an account calling AB a “complete narcissist.”

It seems as though Brown is attempting to follow the same template as Jimmy Butler when he tried to get himself out of Minnesota. After requesting a trade from the Steelers earlier this month, AB has been teasing an forthcoming interview where he looks to tell his side of the story amid reports of a rift with the organization. Brown reportedly missed the final game of the 2018 season over a dispute with a fellow player, however, the team has repeatedly maintained that he sat out due to an injury.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II has told reporters that it would be “hard to envision” Brown remaining with the team next season.
