Evangeline Lilly Attends Anti-Vax Rally, Criticized for Comments on Mandate

Evangeline Lilly, best known for her roles as Kate on Lost and Wasp in Ant-Man, has made a public statement against vaccine mandates.
The actress shared a multi-photo post to Instagram on Thursday, complete with a lengthy caption in which she revealed that she was in Washington D.C. this weekend to (in her words) “support bodily sovereignty while Canadian truckers were rallying for their cross-country, peaceful convoy in support of the same thing.”
As several outlets have since pointed out, the D.C. event in question is the same one during which Robert F. Kennedy Jr. referenced both Adolf Hitler and Anne Frank while attempting to argue against vaccine mandates.
In her IG caption on Thursday, Lilly—who will next be seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania—said she understands the “world is in fear,” but argued that requiring vaccines during a worldwide pandemic “is not healthy.”
Readers may or may not recall that Lilly previously made news of this variety back in 2020 when she publicly disregarded early pandemic practices. She later apologized, saying she “never meant to hurt” those “most affected” by the global pandemic that’s now in its third year.
As with those aforementioned comments, Lilly’s latest have received widespread criticism, particularly as concerns remain surrounding the Omicron variant. See a sampling of that criticism below.
