Ezekiel Elliott Will Not Face Charges for Las Vegas Altercation

Written by on August 17, 2019

TMZ has learned that Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott will not face criminal charges for his altercation with a security guard in Las Vegas.

Per police documents, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department met with prosecutors in July to review the case’s evidence. The meeting determined that the prosecution could not file any criminal charges against Elliott and will elect to close the investigation.

The incident in question took place in May at the Electric Daisy Carnival. Elliott and his girlfriend were in a heated discussion when a 19-year-old security guard Kyle Johnson decided to direct them out of the parking lot. This resulted in Elliott knocking Johnson over a metal railing. Elliott was placed in handcuffs and detained following the altercation, but he was not arrested because Johnson didn’t want to file charges. Johnson decided to file a police report after the NFL announced it wouldn’t punish Elliott for the altercation.

Elliott is currently holding out of preseason workouts and games in hopes of reconstructing his contract. It was rumored that his off-field issues might have an impact on his potential deal, but the closed case might allow him to apply more pressure on the Cowboys.
