Ezra Miller Arrested on Disorderly Conduct and Harassment Charges in Hawaii

Written by on March 29, 2022

Ezra Miller, who will next be seen in the latest Fantastic Beasts franchise entry, was arrested in Hawaii this week on disorderly conduct and harassment charges.

Per a local report from Hawaii News Now, the eventual arrest is said to have began on Sunday night with an incident involving fellow patrons at a bar on Silva Street in Hilo.

Police claim that Miller “became agitated” while other patrons started engaging in karaoke, further alleging that they started “yelling obscenities.” At one point, police said, Miller took the microphone from a woman who was singing karaoke. They are also alleged to have “lunged” at a man who was playing darts at the bar. Throughout this series of events, the owner of the bar in question is said to have attempted to calm Miller down, albeit without success.

Miller was arrested shortly after midnight local time on Monday and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. They have since posted bail and been released, police said. Complex has reached out to a legal rep for Miller for comment and will update this post accordingly.

Back in January, Miller—who in 2020 was the subject of controversy in connection with the surfacing of footage showing a “serious altercation” at a bar—made headlines after telling a KKK chapter in North Carolina to start killing themselves with their own guns.

In next year’s The Flash, Miller will again play the title character after previous turns in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. The film is directed by Andy Muschietti, whose most recent credit was the Stephen King-adapting It Chapter Two back in 2019.
