Kim Porter will be laid to rest in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia on Saturday, a little more than a week after the model/actress was found dead insider her Los Angeles area home.
As the funeral approaches, TMZ has reported a number of details about the ceremony, which will reportedly include a live performance by Faith Evans. Per the outlet: “Faith has a unique connection to Diddy. When Biggie died Diddy was a huge source of comfort to Faith … now she’s returning the gesture.”
Sources also told TMZ that Porter’s casket will arrive in a horse-drawn carriage because horses were Porter’s favorite animal. Mary J. Blige is also expected to attend the service; however, it appears she is not scheduled to perform.
Porter died at the age of 47 on Nov. 15, after she reportedly suffered a bout of pneumonia. Though an autopsy was completed, Porter’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
“On Nov. 16, an autopsy was performed on Porter,” a spokesperson for the L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office said Monday. “The cause of death was deferred pending additional tests. Porter’s body has since been released from our facility.”
Porter was famously known for her on-again, off-again relationship with Diddy, with whom she shares three children. According to TMZ, the hip-hop mogul wants to deliver a eulogy this weekend, but is uncertain if he’s emotionally ready.
“For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare,” Diddy wrote on Instagram, just days after Porter’s death. “But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you. I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE ON SOME OTHER SHITT!! And I miss you so much.”
