Falcons Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley Had His Car Stolen at a Gas Station

Written by on January 21, 2019

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley had his car stolen at a gas station in Buckhead on January 20. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rookie receiver had his 2018 Dodge Challenger stolen while he was inside the gas station.

“Man they got me last night in Buckhead,” he wrote. “Car Stolen. No such thing as a safe part of town so be careful. Grateful there was no violence, they just got me at the gas station & rode out.”

Atlanta’s WSB reports that the area has seen in an increase in so-called “sliders,” thieves who target people fueling unlocked cars at gas stations.

Ridley, who entered the NFL out of Alabama this year, had an excellent first year in Atlanta. He snagged 10 touchdown receptions in his first campaign. Though he only has a year under his belt, he’s already playing mentor to his younger brother Riley, who also played wide receiver in the SEC. The younger Ridley declared for the upcoming draft, so Riley had to share what he learned going through the process last year.

“I told him to work hard and that he’ll know how to do everything they want him to do,” Ridley told the AJC. “He’s going to be ready for everything they put out there in front of him. I just coached him up on what’s going to happen. He’s got a good support system around him with the agency and the people around him.”
