Future dropped off his new 7-track Save Me EP on Thursday night.
Shortly after its release, fans took to social media to point out the similarities between Future’s new Save Me track “Shotgun” and Ciara‘s 2006 song “Promise.” The two were previously engaged and have a child together, 5-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn.

Although it’s not confirmed if Future did indeed use the Ciara sample, take a listen to “Shotgun” and “Promise” below to compare. “Shotgun” was produced by Detail and Seth Firkins.
Ciara’s “Promise” was featured on her second studio album, Ciara: The Evolution. The album debuted at the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard 200 chart.
“If I chose not to commit I was going to fall apart,” Ciara recently said on Red Table Talk while talking about her past relationship with Future. “The one thing I will say is, I’m really afraid of losing myself. And I think if you sit in situations that are unhealthy or you let them linger too long you start to lose yourself. I don’t like crying all the time. I don’t like being sad. So I’m like, ‘how do I get out of this? Because I like being happy.'” Ciara is married to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
