Federal Agents and LAPD Seize Over 1,000 Firearms in L.A. Home Bust

More than 1,000 firearms were seized Wednesday from a house in the neighborhood of Holmby Hills in Los Angeles, NBC News reports.
In what a spokesperson for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is calling a “joint investigation with LAPD,” the residence was served with a search warrant at around 4 a.m. after receiving a tip alleging someone was manufacturing and selling weapons out of the home.
The massive collection included a variety of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. NBC4’s I-Team reports that the owner of the residence was a woman named Cynthia Dianne Beck, who had a number of other properties in the Southern California area under her name. One person was detained by police, however, the identity of that individual is unknown.

NBC News reports that law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation claim that there was no threat to the public. Holmby Hills is part of Los Angeles’ Platinum Triangle. The Playboy Mansion is also located in the same neighborhood.
