A fire broke out in the middle of Coachella‘s Polo Grounds last night, engulfing several of the festival’s mobile showers and trailers. Frightened festivalgoers shared video of the blaze from nearby tents.
The cause of the fire is unknown, though some attendees reported hearing an explosion.
The local fire department said that the fire was reported around 2 a.m. and was fully contained within 30 minutes. They added that there were no reported injuries of festivalgoers or fire personnel.
The fire reportedly started shortly after Childish Gambino‘s headlining set had ended. Donald Glover has been the talk of this year’s fest, debuting his new film Guava Island and giving away his signature Adidas to fans in addition to his main stage performance. Coachella has yet to publicly address the fire, opting instead to share highlights from the first day of performances.
