Stan Lee‘s former manager has been accused of abusing and defrauding the late comic creator.

The Associated Press reports that the Los Angeles County district attorney filed charges against 43-year-old Keya Morgan. The charges range from theft and embezzlement to false imprisonment. A warrant for Morgan’s arrest has been issued.

Morgan’s attorney said that his client is completely innocent of mistreating Lee, who died in November.

“My client stands firmly on his presumption of innocence,” said attorney Alex Kessel. “I expect him to be completely exonerated of all charges. Mr. Morgan has never abused Mr. Stan Lee in any way.”

It’s not the first time that claims of abuse have swirled around the face of Marvel. Amid allegations that his daughter was mistreating him, Lee and daughter J.C. gave an interview together in The Daily Beast

“There really isn’t that much drama. As far as I’m concerned, we have a wonderful life,” Lee said at the time. “I’m pretty damn lucky… We have occasional spats. But I have occasional spats with everyone.”

The allegations largely came from Morgan. However, Lee and J.C. did file for a restraining order against Morgan in July. The allegations against Morgan have been stewing since then.

Morgan was arrested in June 2018 for allegedly filing a false police report and several other Lee advisors were ousted around the same time, due to similar accusations of fraud and abuse. Lee personally admitted that his former business partners Shane Duffy and Gill Champion took advantage of his diagnosis of muscular degeneration to defraud him prior to his death.
