Fred Perry x Raf Simons Present Final Collaboration After 15 Years
Written by SOURCE on February 20, 2023
Raf Simons has debuted Part One of his final collaboration with Fred Perry, which first launched back in 2008.
Drawing direct inspiration from youth culture today, the collection embodies the spirit of independence as the designer looks to the clothes worn at raves, club nights and gigs.
Influenced by Simons’ fascination for uniforms, silhouettes and fabrics feel utilitarian and hardy, with military-inspired knits and jackets, workwear trousers and heavy-duty accessories. The new collection is showcased in a campaign shot by British photographer Ewen Spencer—who is renowned for capturing the energy and spirit of British youth—during beat-punk band Kid Kapichi’s UK tour.
Bespoke graphics feature throughout the collection, taking inspiration from the early industrial record covers that came out of the UK, US and beyond during the late ‘70s. Equally suited to a day’s hard graft as they are at a techno rave, rounding out the delivery is a series of polos, outerwear and knits which have been designed with large-scale album cover prints and embroidered patches.
Take a look through the lookbook in the shots below. The Raf Simons x Fred Perry collection is available now from the Fred Perry webstore.
