Freeway Shares Emotional Freestyle Honoring His Late Son and Daughter

Hip-hop veteran and Philadelphia staple Freeway released a freestyle honoring his late son and daughter Jihad and Harmony, who both passed away within a year of each other.

Freeway took to Instagram to share the emotional verse that he recorded in his car. In it, Freeway says that while they’re no longer here, his kids remain with him always. “I lost my boy, then I lost my girl, they’re not here no more, that shit crushed my world,” he raps. “They’re always on my mind, always in my thoughts, while im on my grind, they’re in my heart.” 

Freeway’s son Jihad passed away in October 2020 at the age of 19. His daughter, Harmony passed away in October of last year after battling cancer. Freeway shared a tribute post on social media for both of his children after they passed.

“You know the saying sugar and spice and everything nice, well that’s my Harmony!” he captioned a video of Harmony at her 21st birthday party. “I promise y’all she was the sweetest most kind most caring generous loving adorable person I know. Allah Really blessed me putting her in my life. I love her so much and this hurts so bad.”

“God knows I try my best to be strong, but this right here is a pain like I never felt. Please cherish your time and your love ones because we’re not promise the next breath,” Freeway captioned an of Jihad and himself at his son’s graduation. “I Pray Allah forgives my son for all Of his sins and I pray that Allah grants him the highest level of paradise. Ameen Please make dua for him & my family.”

Before sharing this heartfelt freestyle, Freeway also celebrated the three year anniversary of his successful kidney transplant surgery.

“Smh with all the stuff going on in my life I almost forgot.🤦🏾‍♂️years ago today Feb. 5th 2019 I was blessed enough to receive my gift of life, my new Kidney,” Freeway captioned the carousel of his recovery after the surgery. “Shut out to the good people at Johns Hopkins for taking such great care of me! I really appreciate you and everyone of y’all! And to everyone out there done with kidney failure stay strong keep your faith in God listen to what the doctor say and remain hopeful! It can happen I’m living proof!!”
