FX Shares ‘Snowfall’ Season 6 Trailer as Series Nears Its End

Written by on January 13, 2023

Franklin Saint’s story is entering its final chapter.

On Thursday, Disney-owned FX rolled out the trailer for Snowfall’s sixth and final season. According to the official synopsis, the new episodes will pick up in fall 1986, as “civil war threatens to destroy the Saint family.” Kingpin/patriarch Franklin (portrayed by Damson Idris) becomes increasingly desperate after getting wiped out by former CIA officer Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson). Franklin is ultimately forced to rob his uncle Jerome (Amin Joseph) and aunt Louie (Angela Lewis), who devised a plan to build a competing drug empire. In Season 5, Louie secretly met with Teddy and convinced him to directly supply her with cocaine without her nephew as the middleman.

“Franklin is faced with losing everyone he loves and everything he’s built,” per the description, “and getting through it will mean out-maneuvering the KGB, the DEA and the CIA, as well as avoiding the LAPD’s corrupt C.R.A.S.H units. When everyone has their backs against the wall, who will they become in order to survive?”

You can check out the Snowfall Season 6 trailer above. The show will return on Feb. 22 at 10 p.m. ET with a two-episode premiere. The following eight episodes will drop every Wednesday on FX and be available on Hulu the following day.

Snowfall, which debuted in summer 2017, focuses on a CIA operation that led to the crack epidemic in South Central Los Angeles. The series was co-created by Eric Amadio, Dave Andron, and the late John Singleton, who also served as an executive producer.

Andron teased the final season during a 2022 interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

“I think we’ve always tried to keep a bit of the light touch in this show,” he said. “Obviously, the show is about very serious things and about a very dark moment in American history. We’ve tried to kind of find some of the levity in that because there is a lot of humor in the situations in the world, and it’s part of how people survive day to day. I think this last season, the story has to ultimately be a tragedy, and this last season is going to feel, I think, a little heavier.”

He continued, “The last two seasons I think you can feel the moments when we’re trying to have things have a lighter touch, and then the last two episodes settle into a very specific tone. And I think the last season is going to be more represented by that tone.”
