G-Eazy Says ‘the Difference Between Me and Rocky’s Treatment’ Is ‘White Privilege’

G-Eazy took to Twitter to comment on ASAP Rocky‘s arrest and imprisonment in Sweden, and to compare it to his own run-in with Swedish authorities.
He made his comments after TMZ published an article titled “A$AP Rocky Treated Way Differently Than White Rapper.”
“This is the sad truth,” G-Eazy wrote. “The difference between me and Rocky’s treatment in Sweden brings to mind two concepts that disgustingly go hand in hand: white privilege and systemic racism. Let’s call it what it is. He should not be behind bars right now. My heart goes out to @asvpxrocky.”
The pair previously collaborated on the remix to G-Eazy’s “No Limit” track.

The When It’s Dark Out rapper was arrested in Stockholm, the same city in which Rocky was arrested, last year. G-Eazy faced charges of assault, possession of drugs, and use of narcotics, but was allowed to hammer out a deal with prosecutors less than 48 hours later. He plead guilty, was sentenced to probation, and ordered to pay fines. “Grateful & blessed to be free & safe. Happy to be in Copenhagen tonight doing what I love most,” G-Eazy wrote on IG after he was released. “Embarrassed & apologetic beyond words about the incident, but above all I’m so fucking grateful they let me go, craziest experience of my life, awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I’m grateful as fuck to be a free man, back on tour performing for the fans.”
On the flip side, Rocky, who is also being suspected of assault (nothing drug-related) has been held in jail for two weeks without being officially charged as authorities “investigate.”
Swedish Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter recently spoke to TMZ Live about Rocky’s case and said that black people are “more than welcome to Sweden.”
Jada Pinkett Smith also commented on TMZ’s initial article. “Hold it … G-Eazy got to strike a deal a day and half after possession of drugs and assault charges??? But you’re holding Rocky,” she wrote on Twitter. “We got the message loud and clear Sweden. Trust me … we got it.”

Fans and celebrities alike have been calling for Rocky’s release. Even Donald Trump is getting involved.
Just spoke to @KanyeWest about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration. I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!
