‘Game of Thrones’ Star Jacob Anderson Thinks the Petition to Remake Season 8 Is ‘Rude’

Written by on May 18, 2019

Fans have been roasting Game of Thrones as the fantasy series comes to a close. An online petition even appeared to urge HBO to remake this season. Still, Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) is standing by the divisive final episodes.

Anderson sat down with ABC’s Strahan and Sara, where he shared his thoughts on the fans petitioning against the show’s writers.

“I think it’s rude,” Anderson said.

He went on to explain that he takes the criticism personally because he’s witnessed the dedication and hard work put in to create an entertaining conclusion.

“Obviously, the show feels to people like it belongs to them. That’s really good – I think it’s really important when people take something into their heart and it means something to them,” he continued. “However, it doesn’t. I just mean that in the sense that I was there and the crew, in particular, are like the hardest working people I’ve ever met. I think to trivialize their work in that way – I find it quite sad.”

Almost a million people have signed the petition. The page claims that “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

Anderson clearly doesn’t believe in the cause. TMZ asked the actor about the controversy right after the Strahan and Sara appearance. “It sucks,” he bluntly replied.
