Gennady Golovkin Is Down to Fight Conor McGregor and Khabib

Turns out Floyd Mayweather isn’t the only boxer looking to get in on some MMA action, with Gennady Golovkin telling TMZ he’s up for fighting both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. When asked which of two he’d be game to fight, he simply responded, “Both.”
While he doesn’t seem certain as to whether he’ll actually jump at the chance to get in the ring for a fight with an MMA star, it’s within the realm of possibility for his future. UFC boss Dana White says he’s already met with Floyd Mayweather’s camp about a possible MMA fight with Khabib, which is how the fight between Mayweather and McGregor came together, so it’s definitely possible that Golovkin could take on either Khabib or McGregor in the future, too.
Unfortunately for Mayweather, Dana White has made it clear that any possible fights with MMA stars must take place in the UFC Octagon, while Mayweather says he’d refuse anything but a boxing match. Perhaps it’s because he doesn’t feel as confident about winning, but if Golovkin is willing to jump in the Octagon then maybe it’ll convince Mayweather to do the same.
Conor McGregor’s fight with Floyd Mayweather pulled in huge numbers when it took place back in 2017, so it’s obvious why Mayweather and White are eager to make something happen with Khabib in the near future.
