The Bucks are keeping things in the family. They’ve reportedly added Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, to their roster.
The Athletic‘s Shams Charania reports that Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee have agreed to a two-year contract.Thanasis’ contract will earn him a guaranteed $3 million.
Thanasis spent time with Greece’s Panathinaikos basketball club. Last year, he was named the MVP of the Greek All-Star Game and was honored as the league’s Most Spectacular Player for that season. Thanasis also led the team to two Greek Basket League championships in 2018 and 2019.
This won’t be the 26-year-old’s first stint in the NBA. In 2013, the Delaware 87ers selected Antetokounmpo with the ninth pick of the D-League Draft. The Knicks then selected him with the No. 51 pick of the 2014 NBA draft. After playing in the D-League for two years, Antetokounmpo returned to Greece in 2016.
