Guapdad 4000 Drops New Single and Video “I Need Bands”

Guapdad 4000 is back with a new one. The Oakland rapper, known also as the Versace Velociraptor, the Freeband Phoenix, and the Rick Owens Renaissance Man, dropped his latest single “I Need Bands” on Friday. The track is a smooth, easy-going listen that finds Guapdad rapping about his recent success.
The Paul Middleton-directed music video follows Guapdad as he wanders around Miami, visiting strip clubs, shopping for luxurious goods, and taking in the sights of the city as he spits at a relaxed pace using his usual quippy wordplay. The track was co-produced by Link+Up and Guap and samples LL Cool J’s 1987 song “I Need Love.”
“I Need Bands” follows in the footsteps of singles “Money” and “Got Me Bent,” the latter of which featured Nate Curry and Jace. Guap last released a project in 2021 titled 1176, which was produced exclusively by !llmind and featured Rick Ross, Buddy, P-Lo, and Tish Hyman. He said joining forces with !llmind was organic, and the project just fell into place because of their great relationship.
“If !llmind had a power it would be to shapeshift, he can do anything! Something like this comes in handy when you need to tell the full spectrum of your story like I did in this music,” Guapdad 4000 said of 1176. “I had no idea we would stumble upon something this magical though, but I guess I should have known that linking up with my Filipino brother would enhance my super powers!”
