Daniel Craig has confirmed that No Time to Die will be his last film as James Bond, and now Harry Styles has volunteered to take on the role. The former One Direction member stopped by for an interview with Hits Radio to talk about what he’s got going on ahead of his hosting and musical guest duties on Saturday Night Live, and he indicated that he’s got big ambitions for his next acting role.

“Yeah, I mean, who wouldn’t,” he replied when asked if he would consider being the next 007. “I grew up watching those. You know, I loved him when I was a kid. So I think it’s kind of everyone’s dream a little bit, right?”

Styles made his acting debut in Dunkirk back in 2017, but he’s not signed on for any project since. He recently turned down the chance to play Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid live-action remake, and he was ultimately passed on for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic

In 2018, editor Lee Smith, who worked on both Spectre and Dunkirk, implied Styles had a chance to portray the iconic agent. “Harry could do it. If they wanted a younger Bond then why not? He has got it,” Smith said. “Harry is really good and he can go all the way. He is an exceptional talent and a complete natural on camera. You would have thought you were dealing with a guy with many years of experience. You would never know that [Dunkirk] was his first film. I didn’t know who Harry was.”

No Time to Die, directed by True Detective Season 1’s Cary Joji Fukunaga, will be Craig’s last appearance as Bond.

Styles is set to appear as both musical guest and host for Saturday night Live on Nov. 16. Watch his full interview with Hits Radio above.
