Hayden Christensen has reportedly joined the cast of Disney+ latest Star Wars spinoff.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, will repirse his role as the Chosen One in Ahsoka.
The live-action series stars Rosario Dawson as the titular character of Ahsoka Tano, who appeared in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, Ahsoka is reportedly set five years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
Dave Filoni, who was involved in several previous Star Wars projects, is writing the series and producing alongside Jon Favreau. Production set to begin in early 2022.
The news arrives several months after it was announced that Christensen would reunite with Ewan McGregor in Disney+’s forthcoming limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is set to take place before the events of Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. The show is set to premiere its six episodes in 2022.
The rest of the cast includes Kumail Nanjiani, Benny Safdie, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Rupert Friend, and the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse.
