The first official teaser for House of the Dragon, HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, dropped early Monday.
Featuring the first footage of the new series, which is set 200 years prior to the events of Thrones, centers on the story of House Targaryen. Prior to Monday’s YouTube unveiling, the teaser was shown as part of the HBO Max Europe launch event.
Starring in the series—which is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood—stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys I Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Olivia Cooke as Lady Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, and more.
Monday’s teaser also comes with newly revealed cast members including Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron, and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon.
House of the Dragon is slated to premiere in 2022.
