Heinz Launches Search for Sailor Who Survived at Sea Eating Ketchup

Heinz has launched a search for a Dominican man who was recently rescued after surviving nearly a month at sea while eating nothing but ketchup and seasoning.
The ketchup maker took to Instagram recently in an attempt to track down Elvis Francois, a 47-year-old man from Dominica in the Caribbean who in January was rescued by the Columbian Navy after he was adrift at sea for 24 days.
After his rescue, Francois revealed he survived by eating only ketchup and seasoning. “I had no food. It was just a bottle of ketchup that was on the boat, garlic powder and Maggi [stock cubes] so I mixed it up with some water,” Francois said at the time of his rescue.
Heinz is now searching for Francois, as the company wants to “celebrate his safe return home” by buying him a new boat.
“You may remember Elvis Francois as the brave sailor who survived on nothing but ketchup and spices while adrift at sea for 24 days,” Heinz said in an Instagram SOS. “Well, Heinz wants to celebrate his safe return home and help him buy a new boat… but we can’t seem to find him.
“So, we’re setting this message adrift into the sea of the internet, because if anyone can help us find him, it’s you. If you or anyone you know can help us get in contact with Elvis Francois, please drop us a DM.”
