Here Are All the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards Winners
Written by SOURCE on September 13, 2022
After their return to an in-person format last year, the Emmy Awards are back for the 74th annual ceremony.
Held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with host Kenan Thompson, 2022’s edition of the Emmys arrives in full force. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the number of submissions last year, with many TV productions delayed on account of difficulty that comes with the age of the novel coronavirus, but the nominations for the Primetime Emmys in 2022 happen to be particularly competitive.
HBO’s Succession got the nod for 12 awards (25 in total when adding the categories presented at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards), while the channel’s The White Lotus is not far behind with 11. Needless to say, HBO and HBO Max lead the nominations, with 50 major noms and 140 overall. The closest competitors are Hulu and Netflix, with 26 and 23 nods in the big categories, respectively.
Marvel’s multiple Disney+ series are mostly absent, with the exception of Chadwick Boseman’s posthumous nod for his voice work on the animated offering What If…? The three major MCU shows eligible for nomination—Loki, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight—only got Creative Arts nominations.
Also notable is Squid Game, which broke records when it first debuted on Netflix and has made history by becoming the first-ever non-English language show to get the nomination for Best Drama.
The Emmys kick off at 8 p.m. ET. See the full list of nominations below, and check back throughout the night as we update the winners.
