Here Are the First Full Week Numbers for Quavo’s Solo Debut ‘Quavo Huncho’

Written by on October 22, 2018

Quavo Huncho couldn’t snag the top spot from Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in its first full week on the charts. The debut solo album from the Migos’ Most Likely to Break Away moved 99,000 equivalent album units this week (6,000 in album sales), good for second place on the Billboard 200.

Not taking the No. 1 spot wasn’t for lack of trying. Quavo went all in behind the project, even stirring up beef with Nicki Minaj at the album’s listening party and on the track “Huncho Dreams.” Huncho followed the model of recent rap behemoths, with a sprawling 19-song tracklist meant to goose his streaming numbers and push the album up the charts.

It wasn’t meant to be, however, as Quavo Huncho fell short of Star‘s 143,000 equivalent units.

The album launched an accidental controversy, with fans of Lil Peep thinking that Quavo took a shot at the late rapper. On the song “Big Bro,” Quavo talks about the dangers of Fentanyl, a drug that the emo-indebted rapper overdosed on earlier this year.

Check out the offending lyrics below:

Is you with me or against me?

I’m a OG now so you need me

Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s Fentanyl

(No-no bars, it’s Fentanyl)

Think you’re living life like rockstars but you’re dead now

Quavo tweeted that he would never disrespect Peep, clearing up the issue.

“Lil Peep Is A Legend A Real Rockstar,” Quavo wrote on Monday. “N E V E R will speak on the deceased.”
